Meet the Interventional Spine & Pain Management Center Physicians

Dr. Robin Fowler

Robin J. Fowler, M.D.
Dr. Robin Fowler has been a leading pain practitioner in the east Atlanta area since 2005. Board certified by the American Society of Anesthesia, he has performed more than 5000 epidurals and revolutionary pain procedures that have improved the quality of life for thousands of patients. He prides himself on keeping his practice up to date on the latest techniques and procedures that are medically available.

Dr. Fowler is the medical director of the Interventional Spine and Pain Management Center. He is also an active staff member at both Newton and Rockdale Medical Centers.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University, Dr. Fowler spent 5 years establishing concurrent successful careers in the pharmaceutical industry and construction contracting. An interest in clinical medicine inspired him to start over as a medical student. His medical degree led him to a residency in Anesthesiology at Emory for 4 years followed by an additional year as a Fellow in Emory University’s Interventional Pain program.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Fowler serves as a thought leader in pain management. He has been asked to speak at top medical universities, hospitals and community programs around the country. He has had over 30 speaking engagements in the last 3 years and has served as an advisor for Pain Management to several Private Insurance Carriers.

Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the National Pain Foundation, the American Pain Society, the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesia, Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.


Dr. Rhee Miller

Rhee W. Miller, M.D.
Dr. Miller received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Medical College of Georgia. She then completed an internship at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center and an anesthesia residency at Emory University Hospital.

Dr. Miller has over 10 years combined experience in the fields of Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain. Her resume includes serving as the vice president of Georgia Anesthesiology Consultants, LLC at Newton Medical Center from 2000-2006.

She holds diplomatic status with the American Board of Anesthesiology and the National Board of Medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiology, East Metro Medical Association, Georgia Society of Anesthesiology, the Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiology and the International Anesthesia Research Society.

Dr. Miller enjoys skiing, scuba diving, running and biking in her spare time. She and her husband have two children.


Allen H. Hord, MD

Allen H. Hord, MD
Dr. Allen Hord has been actively practicing Pain Management in Atlanta for over 20 years. Dr. Hord founded Piedmont Pain Consultants, PC in order to bring his years of experience to a practice where he can provide the highest quality care and service to the community. He practices a comprehensive approach to managing pain, which includes both interventional and medical techniques. Dr. Hord utilizes his experience in treating patients as well as his internationally recognized abilities in teaching and research in order to provide quality medical care for patients with pain.

Dr. Hord’s experience in pain management began when pain clinics and training programs were rare. While most physicians of the era did only a month or two of training in pain management, Dr. Hord chose to go through an additional year of training at the University of Cincinnati Pain Control Center under one of the world’s most famous pain physicians, Prithvi Raj. Dr. Hord then spent over 16 years at Emory University, rising to the rank of Associate Professor of Anesthesiology. He was also a founding member of The Emory Clinic, Inc. Dr. Hord led the way in establishing a nationally recognized fellowship-training program in Pain Management and an active research program that still benefits patient care around the world. He has written books, book chapters and many clinical and research based journal articles. In addition, Dr. Hord has been invited to lecture to groups around the world regarding both his research and his techniques for patient care.


Amber Moulton, MSPAS, PA-C

Amber A. Moulton, MSPAS, PA-C
Ms. Moulton is a 2005 graduate of Western University of Heath Sciences in Pomona, California. There, she received the Dean’s Award, the Western University Physician Assistant Service Award, and Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Specializing in pain medicine after graduation, she has received extensive training in spinal cord stimulator and intrathecal pump placement, as well as musculoskeletal injections. She performs a number of muscle and joint procedures in our offices and at the ambulatory surgical center. She is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.


Dr. Luther “Trey” Rollins, II, MD

Dr. Luther “Trey” Rollins, II, MD brings a total of 24 years experience in general surgery and pain management to Interventional Spine and Pain Management. Graduating in 1976 with a degree in Biology, Dr. Rollins pressed forward to finish a medical degree in 1980 from Emory University. Completing an internship and a one year surgical residency at Georgia Baptist Hospital, he finished his medical training with a two year residency in Emory’s Anesthesia department and became Chief Resident of Grady Memorial Hospital’s Anesthesia Department. During his service as a Pain physician and Anesthesiologist at Piedmont Hospital, Dr. Rollins held advisory positions on various Boards and Committees including Chairman of the Anesthesia Department and President of it’s Board of Directors .

Dr. “Trey” Rollins has completed extensive work in the areas of Spinal Cord and Peripheral Nerve Stimulation, Intrathecal Pump Implantation, Vertebroplasty, Kyphoplasty, Discography and Intradiscal Therapies, various approaches to Radiofrequency Ablation, and numerous nerve blocks and spinal injections. Dr. Rollins hold dual Board Certifications in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. He continues to hone his skills and keep updated on the advancing techniques in pain management by attending various intensive review workshops on pain medicine through out the year.

Dr. Rollins is known in the medical field as a thorough physician with a gentle bedside manner. He is member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, and Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiologists.


Dr. Butz MD

Dr. Butz
Dr. Butz received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Kansas in 1993. He continued on to his medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, graduating in 1998. While in medical school, Dr. Butz excelled in leadership holding various positions such as Class Representative, Social Co-Chair, member of the Student Research Forum and Microbiology Curriculum Committee. Following an Anesthesia residency at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Butz was accepted as a Fellow in the Pain Management program and completed his training at Emory in 2003. Dr. Butz began practicing Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at North Fulton Regional Hospital transitioning into solo practice over the next four years.

He held chair as the Medical Director of Anesthesia and Pain Management at Comprehensive Anesthesia and Pain Professionals in Atlanta before joining Interventional Spine and Pain Management in February of 2009.

Dr. Butz is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiologists, Medical Association of Georgia, North American Neuromodulation Society, American Society for Interventional Pain Physicians, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Medical Association of Atlanta.
